You know those times when you’ve been in a store or somewhere out in public and a little child throws a temper tantrum?  They start screaming and yelling and perhaps lie down on the floor and start crying and shouting things like, “You can’t make me,” or “I don’t want to.”  Some parents will just let the kid carry on.  Some parents will physically pick the child up and exit the store – much to the relief of others!  Regardless of how the parent deals with the situation, it’s always painful for everyone standing around to watch.  I feel like that is what is going on with this tantrum Trump is throwing over the election.  It is truly embarrassing and is creating long term damage to the image of the United States around the world, not to mention the undermining of the electoral process which has been the foundation of this country for over 200 years.

When you add in the threats of declaring martial law, the plethora of baseless lawsuits that have been thrown out of court for lack of evidence, and the latest long shot lawsuit to the Supreme Court asking that the entire results of the Pennsylvania election be overturned (in essence, asking the Supreme Court to disenfranchise something like 2.6 million voters), it is a truly depressing spectacle.  The major difference between what is going on now and with the kid in the store is that the current tantrum thrower has all the levers of the US Government at his disposal (including the country’s nuclear codes).  Imagine the kid in the store, in the midst of his tantrum, getting his hands on a loaded 45 caliber pistol.    That is essentially the kind of situation we are looking at with the current president.  And it’s no less frightening.

One has to wonder why this man is so desperate to remain in office.  In a previous post, I pointed out that Trump appears to like all of the trappings of being president but he doesn’t care much for the job itself.  So, there are just some things that don’t add up.  I mean, if Trump is as rich as he claims to be, then he could certainly have all of the trappings without all of the hassle.  He does, after all, have his own plane.  It might not be Air Force One but it’s a good sized plane nonetheless.  He has his swank apartment at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.  He has all of his golf resorts.  He has his fancy place down in Florida, Mar-a-lago.  (Although it sounds like he is going to have a fight on his hands to make that his full- time residence). There is also the $200+ million that people have contributed to his leadership PAC since the election, over which he has broad discretion as to how it gets spent.  In any case, it’s not like he will be living in a cardboard box under the freeway overpass any time soon.   So, if he is as rich as he says he is, then he can surely live a lifestyle that most of us can only dream about.

There is, of course, the possibility that he is not nearly as rich as he says he is.  It has been reported that he has a debt coming due within the next 3 to 4 years to the tune of around $400 million.  That’s not chump change!   His taxes are being investigated because of a tax refund that he received a few years ago to the tune of around $80 million.  If that investigation goes against him, he will have to repay that money plus interest.  And there are all of the legal problems he faces for which he will have to foot the legal bills.  That could add up to some serious money.

It is well known that Trump does not like to lose.  However, even given that character trait, the desperation on exhibit here goes way beyond that.  This man is truly scared.  So, that would lead a rational person to ask, ‘Why?’  I personally believe there are three reasons why he is so desperate.

I think it is highly likely that Trump is not nearly as wealthy as he has made out to be and I think he is scared to death that the charade is about to be exposed. He has been a con man his entire life and has gotten away with it somewhat.  Initially his dad bailed him out of his bad business deals.  Then US banks bailed him out of his bad business deals.   That forced him to look overseas for capital which is why he has this upcoming debt of $400 million to some, as yet, unknown entity.  He lived off of ‘The Apprentice’ money for a few years.  And now he is living off US tax payer dollars!  And I think the balloon is about to pop.

He is facing serious legal problems on a number of fronts when he leaves office.  Right now, he has the ‘presidential shields’ to protect him.  When he leaves office, he will just be ‘Joe Citizen’ subject to the same laws as the rest of us.  He has surrounded himself with shady characters his entire life.  Just look at how many of his close associates were indicted, convicted or investigated during his term in office.  You are the company you keep.  I think Trump is scared to death that he will be exposed for the con man and criminal that he is.

Lastly, the continued deference to Russia and Vladimir Putin just defies all rational explanations.  I think once investigations into the Trump empire get going in full swing once he leaves office, I am absolutely convinced that there will be some link found between the Trump organization and Russia.  I think Trump is scared to death that this will be uncovered.

Trump is smart enough to know that his house of cards is about to come tumbling down.  He knows he lost.  I’d even be willing to bet that he doesn’t believe any of these conspiracy theories.  However, he’s smart enough to know that its important for others to believe these theories.  Just like he has done his entire life, he is using the people around him to further his own ends.  And he’s desperate.  Very, very desperate.  So, the real question that people should be asking is, ‘How many people will he take down with him?’  Will it just be those in his inner circle?  Or will it be the entire country?

We only have one month to go.  How much damage can Trump possibly do in just one month?  Just think about the little kid in the store throwing a tantrum with a loaded .45 in his hand and that should paint a pretty clear picture!

  1. Good article. You mentioned that you are the company you keep. Think of all the people that support Trump to give him 200 million dollars. Those people admire him so much that they probably would want to be just like him. Scary to think that all the Trump supporters could be as dangerous and unpredictable as he is. 71 million people voted for him. That is even more scary. It reminds me of film footage I saw of Hitler’s supporters at his rallies. Trump supporters are just as rabid. They love him so much that anyone would not dare to disagree or criticize him. Trump has made the Republican’ Party a “yes man” party and anyone who says no are quickly demonized. They label you a RINO. Republican in name only. It should read Republican integrity negating oligarchs.

  2. Michael Flynn is a pardoned felon. He has openly called the President to claim Marshal Law to overthrow the election that is against the Constitution.
U.S. Code § 373.Solicitation to commit a crime of violence
“Whoever, with intent that another person engage in conduct constituting a felony that has as an element the use, attempted use, or threatened use of physical force against property or against the person of another in violation of the laws of the United States, and under circumstances strongly corroborative of that intent, solicits, commands, induces, or otherwise endeavors to persuade such other person to engage in such conduct, shall be imprisoned not more than one-half the maximum term of imprisonment or (notwithstanding section 3571) fined not more than one-half of the maximum fine prescribed for the punishment of the crime solicited, or both; or if the crime solicited is punishable by life imprisonment or death, shall be imprisoned for not more than twenty years.”
    Why isn’t he arrested?
