The lady once stood proud and tall,
A beacon of hope and light for all.
Attempts to dim the torch had always failed.
The American spirit continuously prevailed.
She stands upon a solid base,
Truth and hope etched within her face.
Now assaults attack her heart,
As the country gets torn apart.
How long can the lady stand,
Amidst the strife across the land?
As principles and truth give way to greed,
And true statesmen are a dying breed.
The lady is trying to be strong
And stand steadfast in the face of all that’s wrong.
But each assault takes its toll,
And toppling her is for some a goal.
We can hope she will survive the storm
And there is once again a sunny morn’.
Americans must unite to prevent her fall,
So once again she will stand proud and tall.
