Had a great breakfast at American Host restaurant in Lompoc to start things off. Needed the pancakes to fuel the climb over the hills to Gaviota!! \u00a0Not a lot of steep hills like yesterday \u2013 just long! Saw some deer on the way up.\u00a0![\"image\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.bikingwithmike.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/image-6.jpg?resize=300%2C225\")
Various shades of \u2018up\u2019 for the first 15 miles and then rejoice! A long downhill.\u00a0![\"image\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.bikingwithmike.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/image-7.jpg?resize=300%2C225\")
After that I made pretty good time until I got to Santa Barbara \u2013 there was some big festival\/ parade going on and traffic was a nightmare!! \u00a0Stopped for lunch and then pushed on to Carpinteria. All set up in camp \u2013 about 70 miles today. It got pretty warm towards the end!! All in all a good day. Tomorrow is \u00a0the big push home \u2013 dreading going through Malibu on a Saturday!!<\/p>\n
